Michaela believes that good habits and being consistent can change your life. She has a strong belief that it is important to figure out why you are the way you are, so you know exactly what you will need to change to obtain your goals within your mental health. Michaela is person centered, which means that her approach will be adjusted to how you work, how you learn, and your belief systems. One size doesn’t fit all, and Michaela believes that finding a balance between support, compassion and accountability is key to her client’s mental health success.
Michaela has a special gift for working with you, as well as their family. She talks to all kids at their level, in a respectful and comfortable manner, ensuring that they always feel equal. Their voice matters, and Michaela hears it. She has an innate ability to build a strong connection with kids, building a level of trust that many other Counsellors cannot achieve. While working with youth, Michaela likes to work with parents in separate sessions. She provides parents guidance and tips on how to best navigate parenting their child and assists them through rough patches.

Michaela holds her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina.
Michaela has previously worked as part of a Crisis Intervention Team which has always prepared her for the unexpected. With strong skills in diffusing crisis situations, Michaela can handle whatever situation you may bring to her.
Michaela works heavily with individuals, couples, and youth. Regardless of if you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, issues with your children, or a mental health diagnosis, Michaela is ready and capable to support you. She offers a multiple approach dynamic for her clients and believes in creating a comfortable environment for you to do your best work on your mental health.
Outside of you work, you will find Michaela practicing yoga, reading, walking her two dogs or spending time outside. She recently took up snowboarding and is looking forward to all the adventures ahead of her in the Okanagan Valley.
